Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
Makes 10 servings
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1½ tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
- Vanilla bean ice cream, to serve
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a 10-inch cast-iron skillet with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, beat butter and sugars at medium speed with a mixer until combined, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Add egg and vanilla; beat until well combined. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating just until combined. With mixer on low speed, gradually add cream. Fold in chocolate. Press dough into prepared skillet.
- Bake until golden brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
I made this recipe last night and I feel like there must be a mistake. There was not enough moisture for the cookie to hold together at all. I would really like to know if there is a correction that needs to be made to this recipe.

Can I bake these recipes if I don’t have an iron skillet?
Of course! Just make sure the skillet you are using is oven-safe.
I think you need to specify to melt the butter first.
