Cinnamon Shortcake Biscuits

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts
- 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon heavy whipping cream, divided
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone pan liner; set aside.In a large bowl, sift together flour, 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Add walnuts, stirring to combine. Add butter to flour mixture. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
- In a small bowl, stir together sour cream and 1/4 cup whipping cream. Add to flour mixture; stir well. Divide dough into 6 equal portions and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet. Brush tops with remaining 1 tablespoon whipping cream and sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until lightly browned.
