Step One

To separate the egg white from the egg yolk, gently crack the eggshell and pull the two halves apart over a bowl.

5 things we learned about strawberries in Plant City, Florida:

  1. They must be picked at full ripeness because they will not ripen further after they are picked.
  2. They should be washed just before eating so they don’t become waterlogged.
  3. They should be stemmed after washing so water doesn’t penetrate the fruit.
  4. They taste best at room temperature.
  5. You can’t judge a strawberry by its color. Just as there are varieties of apples, there are varieties of strawberries. And each variety has different characteristics: color, shape, texture, size, and taste. So, a light red berry might actually be sweeter than a dark red one.
