½ cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 dash salt
¾ cup milk
1 (29-ounce) can sliced peaches, undrained
Ice cream (optional)

 

1. Preheat oven to 350°.


2. In a 9-x-9-inch baking dish, melt butter in oven. 


3. In a bowl, combine sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Pour mixture over butter. Pour peaches and their juice over flour mixture. Do not stir.


4. Bake for 40 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, if desired.
