½ cup butter, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1 large egg
1½ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add egg; beat until blended. Gradually add flour and salt. Beat until smooth, stopping to scrape bowl occasionally. (Mixture will be thick.)

2. Scrape mixture onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 3 or 4 times. Divide dough in half, and shape into small rectangles. Wrap each portion of dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
