Serving Suggestions for our Brandied Cherries: For cocktails, strain and use brandied cherry liqueur. For a dessert topping, cook over medium-high heat until thickened, approximately 10 minutes. Let cool slightly. Pour over ice cream, or serve with pound cake.

Brandied Cherries
Yield: approximately 2 quarts

Ingredients
  1. 1 cup sugar
  2. 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  3. 4 cups brandy, such as Calvados
  4. 2 pounds fresh cherries, pitted
Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugars and brandy. Cook over medium heat until sugars dissolve, approximately 3 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in cherries. Divide mixture evenly among 8 (8-ounce) sealable containers. Refrigerate up to 6 weeks.
